This building is an impressive culmination of its long history and exciting restoration. Built in 1934 as the "Waiting Room", as designed by architect Thomas Stevens Van Alyea. Uniquely described as "Fairy Tale" with stepped limestone cornices, stained-glass and quite a "Weather Vane."

Enter at “open door” at 901 W. Juneau Avenue-and enjoy the Best Place Coffee & Spirits with some new breakfast and lunch food items!
On the half-hour, starting at 8:30 AM, the owner of Best Place, will take able-bodied people up 41 steps to our 3rd Floor to view the former Pabst Brewing Company’s former Board Room!!! It is currently in the “in-between” phase. Better than “Before” but not as nice as when they are done (After:) Enjoy some special additional viewings along the way. Hope to be ADA one day (SOON!).

The former 1858 Jefferson Public School (K-12) in 1890 was purchased by Pabst Brewing Company and converted to their Corporate Offices. Best Place has operated the first floor since 2009, but Doors Open gets to peek at the Second Floor where the “Best Beer Museum” is planned. Tin ceilings, ornate woodwork, cast iron columns, Corinthian Capitals, Former President Lutz Issleib’s office, and more! ADA, most of the way. Other fun nearby.
