The Federal Courthouse is an outstanding example of Richardson Romanesque Revival architecture.

The Federal Courthouse is an outstanding example of Richardson Romanesque Revival architecture. Constructed during the 1890s, a major renovation in the 1990s highlights elements of the architectural style. Areas of interest include the 5 story atrium, the ceremonial courtroom (one of the original courtrooms in the building) and the 1990s centennial courtroom. In addition to the federal courts, this building houses Senator Ron Johnson’s office and several federal agencies including the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Secret Service and the U.S. Marshals Service.
