About the Neighborhood
Walker's Point is Milwaukee's oldest neighborhood. Of the three settlements that made up pioneer Milwaukee, it is the only one that has retained both its name and key aspects of its original appearance. Some residents, in fact, describe their neighborhood as a "living museum" of housing types and styles dating from the city's earliest years. That fidelity to the past has made Walker's Point a magnet for preservationists, but it is a vital human community as well. It is the blend of old and new that makes Walker's Point a special place for residents and visitors alike.

Paliafito Eco-Arts Park - 921 S 3rd St
This pocket park boasts public art, a performance stage a 7,000 gallon underground rain catchment cistern, and more!
Zocalo Food Park - 636 S 6th St
Featuring six food trucks, Zocalo Food Park aims to cultivate partnerships with food entrepreneurs and create an ecosystem that harvests community.
This walking and biking tour of sustainable sites in Milwaukee features seven Walker's Point attractions.
Bienvenidos Walker’s Point Mural - 712 S 2nd St
This vibrant 65-foot mural by artist Chacho Lopez reflects the neighborhood's culture. The Spanish language is an important nod to the past and present Latino presence. The mural reads "Bienvenidos Walker’s Point" and features images from across the neighborhood, as well as others from the South Side, including the Allen-Bradley Clock Tower, Vieau School, Basilica of Saint Josephat, Sabbatic, the Hoan Bridge and more.

While Historic Milwaukee is not opening buildings and sites to tour this year, we still encourage you to visit these recommended neighborhood locations for self-guided experiences. When visiting neighborhood locations please follow the mask ordinance - wear a mask and maintain social distance and respect residents and neighbors.
