United Performing Arts Fund
The United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF) has been setting the stage for more than 50 years by providing critical investment in our region’s vibrant performing arts scene. Since its inception, UPAF has raised over $300 million for the performing arts. UPAF funding is critical to the sustainability of these community treasures and allows them to focus on what they do best: creating, performing, inspiring and educating.
United Performing Arts Fund Performances at Northwestern Mutual on Saturday
Historic Milwaukee is partnering with United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF) during Doors Open to help raise awareness of the performing arts. On Saturday, September 28 UPAF has organized music, dance and theater performances to take place at Northwestern Mutual.
On first floor by the Giving Gallery:
10:45 – 11:15 am: Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO)
11:30 am – 12 pm: Danceworks
12:15 – 12:45 pm: Bel Canto Chorus
1 – 1:30 pm: Present Music
In the top of the Tower:
10:30 a.m. – Noon: Frogwater representing Renaissance Theaterworks
Noon – 1:30 p.m.: Pangaea Steel Drum Band representing Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra
Access Contemporary Music (ACM)
Access Contemporary Music (ACM) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to integrating musical creativity into everyday life. ACM has partnered with several cities in the Open House Worldwide program including New York, Chicago, Helsinki, Barcelona and, most recently, Milwaukee, to create custom music for the spaces and have musicians perform the music in the spaces on the day of the event. ACM’s global composer membership program is where all of this wonderful new music comes from.
Access Contemporary Music Performances on Sunday
Access Contemporary Music will perform at the following sites. Each site will feature performances of pieces specifically written for them. Performances will be played by local musicians from Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and the Milwaukee Ballet.

Milwaukee Dance Theatre Network (MDTN) elevates the fields of dance and physical theater by fostering collaborative relationships, developing regional audiences, and engaging in advocacy through dialogue and action.
