October 13 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
The First and Second Street Historic District celebrates the almost continuous development of the area from the 1840s to the 1920s. Added to the register in 1987, the district has transformed again. The former factories and warehouses are now home to unique dining experiences and places to live, work and play. The district has added connections to environmental conservation and nearby neighborhoods, particularly the amenities of the Menomonee Valley like the river and trails.
This tour will explore the former and present lives of these interesting buildings as well as explore projects currently under construction and those in the planning phase.
Meeting place: Small park in front of Tenor High School, 131 S. 1st Place, Milwaukee, WI 53204
