This talk by author Paul Geenen draws from his books on Milwaukee civil rights and the Sherman Park neighborhood. Topics will include students from Alverno College who spent their summers registering voters in the south, Fr. Groppi’s Fair Housing Marches, Jesús Salas’s march to Madison, the grape boycott, the take-over of the UWM Chancellor’s office, and the fight in Sherman Park for fair housing, school integration and against the freeways.
