Join sculptor and historian Ben Tyjeski on a detailed tour of the architectural terra cotta in Westtown. Beginning inside the stunning “Mecca of business in Milwaukee,” the Plankinton Arcade Building, Tyjeski will bring attention to Daniel Burnham’s vision for a modern city and how it influenced the craft and artistic genius represented on the many façades in the downtown neighborhood. Tyjeski recently published a book on the subject, Architectural Terra County of Milwaukee County. The book documents 480 buildings in Milwaukee County with many colored photographs, of which many of those buildings are featured in the tour. The distance of the tour is less than one mile.
