Join us for a talk with author, Joey Grihalva, a Sherman Park native, to learn more about his book, Milwaukee Jazz, a chronicle of a century of Milwaukee jazz history. The book features rare photos of local luminaries like Loretta Whyte, Jabbo Smith, Al Jarreau and many more. The book also highlights the rich history of household names who have played in Milwaukee. Copies of the book are available for purchase.

Dive into architectural historian Andrew Hope’s research and website, Architecture of Faith Milwaukee, http://architectureoffaithmilwaukee.info/, an exploration of Milwaukee’s religious architecture. This website is the culmination of Hope’s extensive research and photography, completed in 2017. It considers not only architectural style and taste, but also the reflection of the changing neighborhood identity, the craftsmanship and lavish decoration often found in houses of worship.
