Peep Diorama Competition

Historic Milwaukee, Inc. invites you to participate in our first ever Peep Diorama Contest, taking place from April 18th until April 27th! Based on the popular event by the Washington Post, contestants are asked to build shoe-box size dioramas showcasing Milwaukee’s built environment and rich history, using Peeps to represent characters in the scenes.

Please submit photos on the HMI website by April 5th. Entries will be judged by Historic Milwaukee Executive Director, board members, and special guests. Selected entries will then be put on display at the HMI offices for the public from April 18th to the 27th (office closed on April 21st) to view and vote on.

Historic Milwaukee Peep Diorama Contest Guidelines:

  • Create a scene referencing Milwaukee’s built environment and rich history. Get creative!
  • Construct your diorama using a shoe-box or other comparably-sized item, not to exceed 14 in x 14 in x 14 in. Entries that exceed this size will be disqualified.
  • Use Peeps to represent the characters in your scene
  • Submit up to 5 JPEG images of the diorama on our website
  • Provide relevant information: name, hometown, phone number, email address
  • Title of diorama
  • Description of scene
  • Entry photos must be submitted by April 5th, selected entries need to be delivered to the HMI office by April 18th

Children and adults are welcome to collaborate but all entries will be judged in one category.

  • First Prize: $50 gift certificate to HMI Store
  • Second Prize: $25 gift certificate to HMI Store
  • Third Prize: $10 gift certificate to HMI Store
