Celebrating Milwaukee’s Neighborhoods HMI Puzzle

$19.99

The Milwaukee Neighborhood poster series began with Bay View in 1983. In the ensuing years, Milwaukee graphic artist Jan Kotowicz added 26 posters to the collection. The reverse side of each poster carried a history of the neighborhood written by local historian John Gurda.

In 2015, HMI published John Gurda’s Milwaukee: City of Neighborhoods, the most comprehensive account of grassroots Milwaukee ever published. The book features both historical chronicles and contemporary portraits of 37 neighborhoods that emerged before World War II, an ensemble that defines the historic heart of the city. The book also features 11 new neighborhood posters by artist Jan Kotowicz.

As part of this project, HMI began to sell the neighborhood posters and expanded the offerings to include notecards, keychains, and now this puzzle- growing the audience for the beloved images.
