Built for the Phoenix Printing Company in 1916, the building was originally three stories. Two additional stories were added in 1917. The company specialized in packaging and printing for laundry and dry cleaning industry. On the fifth floor, Phoenix made bentwood hangers using lumber from their mill in Prairie du Chien. The company sold the building in 1940 to American Warehouse owned by the Willenson Family. In 2004, Joseph Property Development converted the building to condominiums.
