Doors Open Tours

Ticketed tours range from free to $10 per ticket.

Municipal tours, which go on sale September 9, are free, but reservations are required. Ticket fees for other tours help offset the cost of ticketing software and support Historic Milwaukee, the non-profit organization that brings you Doors Open Milwaukee.

Thousands of people are competing for a limited number of tour spots, so the best thing you can do is be prepared before tickets go on sale.

Review the available tours in advance and prioritize your list. Know the tour, date, time, and number of tickets you want. Tours are listed alphabetically by day, so go directly to your first choice when tickets become available.

Tickets are not reserved until payment is complete, so have your payment information ready and be prepared to complete your purchase quickly.

If a tour is full, you can add yourself to the waitlist.

One waitlist entry equals one ticket. If you need three tickets, you must add yourself to the waitlist three times.

To ensure tickets are used, waitlists will be suspended on Monday, September 21. Any available tickets will then be added back to the tour’s Eventbrite page.

Historic Milwaukee will share updates about ticket availability and waitlists on our social media channels.

Cancellations with a refund are available for 48 hours after purchase.

If you’re unable to attend after the 48-hour refund window, we ask that you still let us know so we can make your tickets available to another attendee.

Members were sent a unique link to Eventbrite where tickets can be booked on Sept. 2 at 10 am. If you are a member, check your inbox for emails from info@historicmilwaukee.org to find the link.

• Members do not have a website log in
• All municipal tours (including the City Hall Bell Tower) will be available on the public sale date - September 10th at 10 am - and are marked as such. These locations are government managed and are tax payer funded. To view municipal tours click here.
• To allow as many members as possible the opportunity to purchase tickets, we ask that:
  • Single memberships (individual and senior) purchase no more than two tickets per tour;
  • Dual levels (senior couple, family, explorer, etc.) purchase no more than four tickets per tour.
  • Ticket orders above these quantities will be cancelled.
  • You will need to purchase tickets for one tour per transaction.
  • Premium membership levels that include complimentary Doors Open tour tickets will be emailed separately.
