Women, Wine & History is a guided wine tasting paired with engaging Milwaukee history.  The Milwaukee Wine Academy and Historic Milwaukee invite you to celebrate Women’s History Month with an evening that blends curated pours, storytelling, and lively conversation. Guests will learn about the wines themselves—styles, regions, and the women behind them—while also discovering the stories of remarkable women who helped shape Milwaukee. All are welcome to attend.

Along the way, you’ll meet fascinating historical figures including Wisconsin’s first doctor, “Aunt Mary Ann”; Ardie A. Clark Halyard, banker, activist, and the first woman president of Milwaukee’s NAACP chapter; Helen Cromwell, a savvy businesswoman who operated a successful saloon and boarding house in Milwaukee’s early vice district; and Susanna Watson, one of Milwaukee’s earliest African American settlers who ran a seamstress business.

The tasting will feature a curated selection of classic styles—sparkling, white, rosé, and red—crafted by women winemakers from around the world. Sip, learn, and discover the lasting impact of women in both wine and Milwaukee history.
