Tour the Beerline Trail through the Riverwest and Harambee neighborhoods, app available from May 6 – 16

Download the Historic Milwaukee app and take the Beerline Tour for FREE: download to your Apple or Android device.

Take an audio walking tour of the Beerline Trail From Snail’s Crossing to the Capitol Drive overpass. The trail will take you through two of Milwaukee’s most dynamic and diverse neighborhoods – Riverwest and Harambee. Like the Beerline, the rail infrastructure that preceded its inception as a multi-modal recreational trail, the common space of the Beerline Trail as we know it today coalesces a great diversity of business, social and cultural spaces along its periphery. Though the nature of these businesses and social, or cultural spaces have changed since the rail line was decommissioned in the early 1990’s, the evolution of these spaces since that time has been profound and offers a key lens into the future of Milwaukee, one which strives to become more resilient, equitable and responsive to the evolving needs of our residents.

The tour was narrated and developed by Annushka Peck as part of Historic Milwaukee’s Spaces & Traces programming in Harambe and Riverwest. Annushka is an educator and practicing artist, who also consults on creative placemaking and design issues.

Spaces & Traces is supported in part by a grant from the Milwaukee Arts Board and the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin.
