Learn about renovation efforts of a former Riverwest funeral home into a single family residence with home owner and architect Keith Stachowiak.

The former Schramka Funeral Home was designed in 1928 by Roland Kurtz. Undertaker Eugene Schramka and his wife Rose raised three children in the upstairs apartment. The children continued the family business, and the building was operated as a funeral home for 73 years. It was converted to single family in 2001 and has only changed ownership three times.
