Tour the Former UWM Alumni House

Join Historic Milwaukee for a reception and self guided tours of the historic Myron T MacLaren House on Milwaukee’s East Side. 

The Tudor Style UWM Alumni House was built in 1923 as the private residence of Myron T. and Gertrude MacLaren on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan. In 1949 the home was acquired by the Milwaukee State Teachers College as a women’s residence hall and became part of UWM’s buildings in 1956. The property was utilized by UWM as a conference center, alumni center, event and office space. In 2021, the 3-story, 25,000 square foot home was sold to  entrepreneur and philanthropist Andy Nunemaker who has done extensive and historically sensitive renovation to the property. The evening will offer the opportunity to take a self guided tour of the house and enjoy a desert and cocktail reception.
