Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity that will take place on November 30, 2021.

Even in times of economic uncertainty, we each have a deep reserve of generosity, which we can deploy in myriad ways to make a difference--your time, your kindness, your skills, your voice are all things you can give in addition to charitable donations. Learn more about Giving Tuesday.

Support Historic Milwaukee Today

Like many nonprofits that rely on in-person programs and tours, Historic Milwaukee's 2021 revenues have been less than previous years. Tour sizes were limited to accommodate COVID safety best practices and we saw fewer tourists downtown.

Will you consider a donation today to sustain HMI during this difficult time? Here’s what your gift will help us accomplish this year and into 2022:

  • Provide much needed operating support to help HMI carry out its mission of promoting Milwaukee’s history and architecture
  • Allow us to continue to offer free virtual programming, such as lectures and book talks.
  • Fund new programming and tours highlighting Milwaukee’s diverse neighborhoods as part of Doors Open 2022, helping to share culturally diverse and indigenous stories

Here's what our members, tour takers, and visitors are saying about Historic Milwaukee:

“I am a relatively "new-comer" to Milwaukee; the friend I went on this tour with has lived in the city for many years. We both learned things that we didn't know before! It was great to have an opportunity to get inside - and learn more about -some of Milwaukee's more stunning architectural treasures. So many times, when I'd drive or walk by these buildings, I didn't take the time to really look at, and appreciate, their beauty. On this tour, I also learned a lot about Milwaukee's cultural, social and economic history from our guide, David. All in all, it was two hours well spent in helping me get more familiar with my newly adopted home city.” - Walking Tour attendee

"Rozga home (Old South Side Settlement Museum) brought me back to my own past memories with their location and historic photos I remember from my own childhood. All four Doors Open sites I visited were areas I never would have been to or seen on my own - thank you for this most enlightening experience -makes me appreciate the good things of Milwaukee!!" - Doors Open attendee
