Hop

Explore Milwaukee’s distant and more recent past while enjoying a smooth ride on the Hop streetcar. While the original streetcar system in Milwaukee began in the 1860s, it was entirely removed by the 1960s meaning Milwaukee was without this beloved method of transportation for more than 50 years. The Hop opened in 2018 and the M-Line runs about 2.1 miles throughout downtown.

This tour will explore some of the historic stats from the previous streetcar’s heyday and also share more about the current iteration. An interesting mix of urbanism, transportation planning and renewal, this tour will explore the Historic Third Ward, the edge of the Menomonee Valley and Walker’s Point, Yankee Hill and many of Downtown’s landmarks like City Hall (1893) and the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist (1847).

After the tour, enjoy lunch at the Swingin’ Door Exchange or Uncle Wolfie’s Downtown.
