Volunteer Appreciation Party
Historic Milwaukee invites our volunteers to join the third annual volunteer celebration on Thursday, November 8 at 6 pm at the Vue – formerly known as Polaris – located on the 20th floor of the Hyatt Regency.
Polaris opened its doors in 1980 and operated as a rotating restaurant for almost three decades. Polaris reopened as Vue in 2015 as a private events space. While the 20th floor no longer rotates, it still boasts panoramic views of downtown.
Historic Milwaukee has a small staff of three full time employees and a part time accountant. Our big events, tours and programs which educate thousands of visitors about Milwaukee’s history and architecture would not be possible without the hundreds of volunteers who dedicate their time to our organization. According to the group Independent Sector, the value of an hour of volunteer time in Wisconsin is $24.00. Last year, 1,000 volunteers donated four hours of their time, the equivalent of $96,000.
If you are a volunteer tour guide, or have volunteered for Spaces & Traces, Doors Open, or any other Historic Milwaukee program, we look forward to celebrating with you on November 8. The event is free with RSVP required. This year’s party will be 80s themed!
This event is free, you and a guest are invited to join. Please RSVP by October 26 – RSVP required.
