Building Description

The historic Fred Kraus Mansion was built in 1902 by architect Eugene Rudolph Liebert. Designed as a single-family residence in the spirit of the “Gilded Age Revival” with stylings of the Jugendstil (Germany’s version of Art Nouveau). Since 1950 the building has been occupied and operated by the Alano Foundation as a site for AODA (Alcohol and other Drug Addiction) recovery meetings, events, and as a location for those in recovery to gather and fellowship.
