Building Description
The War Memorial Center serves as a dynamic hub for veteran, patriotic, cultural, and educational events. Dedicated on Veterans Day in 1957, the building stands as a tribute to the men and women who served our nation.
Designed by renowned architect Eero Saarinen—also responsible for the St. Louis Gateway Arch, New York’s JFK Airport, and Washington D.C.’s Dulles International Airport—the WMC remains one of Milwaukee’s most iconic structures. In 1974, it was designated a Milwaukee Landmark in recognition of its architectural and cultural significance.

Talk with current and former military personnel who share real stories and firsthand perspectives.
