This century-old letterpress print shop features a basement studio which houses 12 antique letterpresses and a collection of 300+ wood and lead typefaces.

Originally built as a church in the 1880s, Bay View Printing Co has been in the building since the 1940’s. This was a shared space with the church upstairs and print shop downstairs until the 1970s when Bay View Printing Co took over the entire space. The building has been updated and maintained, but most of the exterior architecture remains.

For Doors Open, visitors can walk through the design shop upstairs. Guided tours of our print shop downstairs will also be available. Tours will focus on the equipment and techniques used everyday – presses and century-old type collection combined with modern elements to keep the process viable today.

Please note that only the basement is accessible for wheelchairs/walkers at this time (the basement has the historic goodies anyway).
