Cactus Club

Cactus Club is an artist-run, queer-owned, multi-disciplinary arts and performance space in Bay View. Engaging with culturally expansive and intergenerational cross-sections of the city, the venue aims to foster meaningful relationships, highlight artistic voices, develop local talent, and provide high quality arts programming to folks near and far. The organizers work to provide a supportive and amorphous platform for creative experimentation, tastemaking curation and interactive educational opportunities.

The building is 140+ years old! In summer 2025, a ramp to the front door was added as part of their Accessibility Initiative. Phase 2 of this project will include a substantive addition that centers access to the stage, bathrooms and greenroom. The cultural significance of the space has a beautiful story that links anarchist book clubs, prohibition tunnels, driveway bocce ball, and countless celebrations. Cactus Plus is the arts education nonprofit that organizes programming out of Cactus Club. These programs include DJ classes, a monthly book club, a youth filmmaking class, multimedia workshops, a seed swap, film screenings, an artist residency, an outdoor fall festival October 3 and so much more!

Over the course of the last 30 years, the club has progressed from niche indie venue to a cultural hub and national destination – thanks to the deep community ties, inspired participation, and collective growth of all involved.
