Building Description
Concordia 27 is a beautiful example of adaptive reuse. Located in Milwaukee’s Near West Side, and centered around the historic Cecelia Apartment Building (1925 with adjoining annexes added in 1926 and 1929), the long-vacant complex has been transformed into a vibrant community hub.
Today, Concordia 27 brings together community organizations, entrepreneurs, artists, wellness providers, and community resources under one roof. Developed through a partnership between Near West Side Partners and Wiegand Enterprises, the project was shaped by neighborhood input and reimagined as a place where collaboration, economic opportunity, and community well-being come together.
During Doors Open Milwaukee, visitors can explore this revitalized landmark, learn about its transformation, and discover how a once-vacant property has become a catalyst for investment and community development in the Near West Side.
