Building Description
Situated in Milwaukee’s historic 30th Street Industrial Corridor, the Adullam building spans over 25,000 square feet and was originally home to a mid-century furniture manufacturer—part of a once-thriving network of factories and skilled trades that powered the city’s economy. Today, we carry that legacy forward through Custom Cottage, where custom furniture is still built by hand on-site. The building also serves as the headquarters for Adullam Outreach, a nonprofit committed to meeting the practical needs of individuals and families through food distribution, youth programs, housing support, and job training—bringing new life and purpose to a space rooted in hard work and restoration.
Visitor Experience
During your visit to Custom Cottage, you’ll have the unique opportunity to witness a real-life woodshop in action and explore the custom furniture pieces we are currently working on. Each of our projects is one-of-a-kind; no two pieces are ever the same — we’re always working on something new and exciting!
In addition to our custom furniture, we proudly showcase the Aster Collection by EmRu Designs, featuring exclusive pieces created and designed by the owners themselves, available for viewing at the shop. While you’re here you will also find a selection of handcrafted cutting boards available for purchase, perfect for taking a piece of Custom Cottage craftsmanship home with you.
