The house was saved in 1938 when it was moved to the park and restored as a WPA project and is now managed by the Milwaukee County Historical Society.

The Kilbourntown House located in Estabrook Park, is the oldest home left in Milwaukee County. This prime example of Greek Revival Architecture was built by Benjamin Church in 1844, a Milwaukee carpenter from the 1830’s.

Visitors will find period examples of furniture from the Colonial Dames, history of the house, family, and the city from the 1840’s.

Among other treasures in the house, guests will participate in a guided tour and find curious artifacts that will make them ponder of their use.
