Building Description
The Milwaukee Baseball Club (MBC) Community Center is a 10,600-square-foot youth development facility located on Milwaukee’s South Side. Opened in January 2025, the center was created through a grassroots community effort to provide local youth with access to opportunities that are often limited by financial and social barriers.
While baseball and softball serve as entry points, the facility functions as much more than a sports center. Visitors will find indoor training spaces, batting cages, pitching tunnels, classrooms, a Student Resource Center, a music and arts program, mentorship spaces, and areas dedicated to academic support and college readiness. The center serves hundreds of youth and families annually through sports, academics, arts, music, leadership development, and community programming.
What makes MBC unique is that it was built and continues to operate through the efforts of volunteers, alumni, families, and community supporters. The facility represents a community-driven investment in Milwaukee’s youth and serves as a year-round gathering place where young people can learn, grow, and prepare for their future.
Visitor Experience
Visitors to the Milwaukee Baseball Club (MBC) Community Center will experience a unique behind-the-scenes look at one of Milwaukee’s most innovative youth development organizations. Guided tours (15–20 minutes) will showcase the facility’s indoor batting cages, pitching tunnels, classrooms, music and arts spaces, and community gathering areas while highlighting how these spaces are used to support youth year-round.
Guests will have the opportunity to meet coaches, volunteers, alumni, and current participants who help bring the organization’s mission to life. Interactive activities may include batting cage demonstrations, pitching tunnel experiences, and hands-on baseball and softball skill stations. Visitors will also be able to explore the history of the Milwaukee Baseball Club, Milwaukee Brewers RBI (Revitalizing Baseball in the Inner City), community partnerships, and success stories from former participants who have gone on to college, careers, military service, and community leadership.
Throughout the day, visitors will gain insight into how a volunteer-led organization has transformed a former industrial space into a vibrant community center that serves youth and families through sports, academics, mentorship, arts, music, and leadership development.
