Get answers to these questions and more at MCTS’s open house during Doors Open Milwaukee. Riders, families, and transit buffs will enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at MCTS’s Fleet Maintenance Facility on Saturday, September 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
MCTS invites the public to see what it takes to rebuild, repair, and overhaul the 11-ton vehicles that serve 40,000+ residents a day. The complex, located at 1525 W. Vine Street, handles major mechanical repairs, brake and body work for more than 334 buses — all to keep Milwaukee County residents moving forward.

MCTS Fleet Maintenance Tour
Go behind the scenes at Milwaukee County Transit System’s Fleet Maintenance facility and see what it takes to keep Milwaukee moving. Guests will take a guided tour of the maintenance building, learn how MCTS buses are inspected, repaired, and maintained, and meet some of the skilled professionals who keep the fleet operating safely and reliably every day. This tour offers a rare look at the people, tools, and technology that help power public transit across Milwaukee County.
