Discover the DIY urban farming future at Milwaukee Microgreens!

This historic building was once home to the Louis Allis Specialty Motors Company, but today it houses a bootstrapped indoor farm that grows microgreens year-round. Founded by local farm CSA members who were inspired to start growing food for the community, they built this farm with their own hands and mind. So, lettuce show your what we’re all about!

Doors Open weekend experience:
For the first time ever, Milwaukee Microgreens will be open to the public during Doors Open Milwaukee. This is a rare opportunity to see how microgreens are grown in an urban industrial setting and to learn about the health benefits of these nutrient-rich greens.

Visitors will have the chance to:

  • Take a self-guided tour of the microgreens growing area
  • Learn about the different stages of microgreen growth
  • Talk to the Milwaukee Microgreens team about their growing practices
  • Sample some microgreens

There will be activities for children, including a coloring station and a yummy plant-based snack bar!

Tour length:
Guided Tours with the owners will run every 30 minutes; each will last 15-20 minutes with time to snack and ask questions after.
