Building Description
Founded in 1872 by German immigrants, Saint Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church is a cornerstone of Milwaukee’s Bay View neighborhood and a striking example of Gothic Revival architecture. Completed in 1888, the church features soaring stained glass windows, intricate woodwork, and a majestic bell tower that has become a local landmark.
Inside, visitors will find a serene sanctuary adorned with hand-carved details and a historic pipe organ that has accompanied worship services for over a century. The church’s history reflects the growth and resilience of the Bay View community, offering a glimpse into Milwaukee’s Lutheran heritage.
