Building Description

The David O. Nicholas Applied Finance Lab, in the Lubar College of Business, was created to provide students with a state-of-the-art facility that replicates the exact technology used by investment bankers, buy-side analysts, and portfolio managers. Students use it all to work on portfolios valued at about $12 million.

Visitor Experience

Visitors to the finance lab will have the opportunity to explore and learn about investment software, as well as get questions answered by students and faculty. You can also join a Lubar College finance professor to learn the basics about valuing a stock during 10-minute presentations scheduled for 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. You’ll see those concepts put into action as real-world data and investment software are used to compare two companies.
