Building Description
The UWM Biological Sciences Greenhouse occupies the roof of the Northwest Quad. Designed by Flad Architects and built by United Greenhouse Systems, it’s home to an instructional collection of 670 plant species representing over 110 plant families. The Greenhouse provides a hands-on, dynamic classroom environment and furthers academic research while supporting over 1,800 students and 1,200 visitors annually.
Visitor Experience
Stop in to see the wide variety of plant life that thrives in the UWM Greenhouse. Many of its specimens are rare in cultivation or endangered in the wild. Explore its three wings and the many areas used by students and faculty and see short films featuring native pollinators, microscopic plant wonders, and interactive displays for interested folks of all ages.
