Building Description
The Union Art Gallery, located in the newly renovated UWM Student Union, exhibits a wide variety of contemporary art. Shown work can be in any number of mediums from artists who are local, regional or national, and emerging or established. In addition, the UWM Student Union Art Gallery prides itself on being an accessible space for UWM student artists to exhibit and learn.
Visitor Experience
Enjoy an exhibition titled “A Tending,” showcasing the work of UWM alumna Jennifer Bastian ’07 MA ’08 MFA. Through fiber, sculpture, installation and photography, Jennifer creates environments that invite reflection, vulnerability and care. Drawing from personal experiences, her work transforms everyday materials into vessels that emphasize the shared human yearning for safety and acceptance. Bastian was the Thurber Park Artist in Residence for the city of Madison for 2024-26.
