Building Description

One of UWM’s most beloved and beautiful spaces, the Helene Zelazo Center for the Performing Arts boasts a grand entrance and two elaborate stained-glass displays, as well as exquisite molding, arches and decorative elements. Originally built in 1923 as a Jewish synagogue, UWM acquired it in the year 2000. Its highlights now include the 758-seat Helen Bader Concert Hall, a large ensemble practice ballroom, an intimate chamber music recital room and six warm-up/practice spaces.
