Building Description

The seventh floor of Chase Tower is home to WUWM 89.7 – Milwaukee’s NPR. WUWM is Milwaukee’s premier public radio news station, broadcasting trusted local, national and international news and smart programming from outlets like National Public Radio, American Public Media, BBC, and more.

WUWM is also home to the largest local public radio news team in southeastern Wisconsin. The station’s reporters and producers create sound-rich stories that are vital to the greater Milwaukee community, with special reporting initiatives on significant beats, including the environment, education, and race and ethnicity.

“Lake Effect,” WUWM’s daily talk show and podcast, offers in-depth conversations with people that shape metro Milwaukee, connecting their perspectives, work, and organizations to the broader listening region.

WUWM has been broadcasting in Milwaukee for 60 years. Our news stories and reporters have been honored by many awards over the years from state, regional, and national journalism organizations. In 2023 alone, the newsroom, “Lake Effect,” and digital teams won more than 20 awards.

WUWM’s independent, educational mission and programs fuel a connection between Milwaukee and our listening region. We invite you to come for a visit and see where the audio-magic happens.
