Join Historic Milwaukee for a lunch event at the historic Milwaukee Athletic Club. The lunch will take place in the private club’s Olympic room and offer self guided tours of the iconic cocktail lounge, “The Elephant Room”, and the 1882 meeting room. While the club was constructed in 1917, this floor was renovated in 1948 by famed Milwaukee architects, Eschweiler & Eschweiler, boasting classic Mid Century Modern details and murals by New York painter Robert Bushnell and a carved wood fireplace by Milwaukee artist Dick Wiken.

Guests will enjoy a three course meal with a program by local historian Brian Fette. Brian will share more about Eschweiler & Eschweiler and their many notable buildings and residential architecture.

About the Milwaukee Athletic Club

The Milwaukee Athletic Club formed in the 1880s and had nine temporary locations before finally settling into its current home on Broadway in 1917. This building was designed by local architect Armand Koch in a Neoclassical style over a steel skeleton and constructed by the Dahlman Construction Company. The Milwaukee Athletic Club recently concluded an extensive renovation maintaining the building’s historical character top-to-bottom with renovation by  J. Jeffers & Co.   Learn more about the Milwaukee Athletic Club.
